CLARITY TRAINER - ATTRIBUTES
Take your trainer out of the case and let’s have a look at what is in front of you.
CONTEMPORARY DESIGN WITH MANY USEFUL FEATURES
Overbound Clarity trainer has a design similar to high-end sports glasses with a sleek and contemporary looking frame. The frame and all lenses are made with TR90 Nylon to ensure comfort, flexibility and durability. They are resilient to damage, and are ready for anything that may happen during your eyesight practice.

FIVE SHIELDS FOR MULTIPLE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
Clarity features five vision obstruction shields. Each shield was designed to enable the training one or more specific eyesight skills:
Peripheral vision (Shield #1, #2 and #3)
Eye activation (Shield L, R and #1)
Binocular vision and depth perception / 3D vision (Shield #1)
Eye-body coordination (Shield L, R #1 and #2)
Note: All shields are fully opaque and black. The shield colors shown in the pictures are for illustration purposes only.
THE ANATOMY OF EACH SHIELD RESPECTS THE NEED FOR CONSTANT PERIPHERAL AWARENESS
Keeping peripheral vision engaged at all times wakes up sleeping photo receptors, and allows the eye as a whole to function with ease and at a significantly higher level.
STAY AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS
Take advantage of the shape of the lenses. While they block forward vision, they keep the periphery open. Be aware of your surroundings at all times and in all directions.
Even when working with one eye at a time, keeping the periphery of the covered eye open keeps your spatial awareness intact.
SWAPPING THE SHIELDS IS JUST A BREEZE
Thanks to a magnetic attachment system, changing the shields takes only a few seconds. Pull one out, click one in. Just like that!
Take your time to get familiar with the best way to hold the lens and the frame. While holding the frame, gently pull the lens down or peel it off starting on one end and ending on the other.
Do not try to wiggle the shields out of the frame.
When inserting a new lens into the frame, find the right spot and gently push the lens in. The lens tabs will guide you.
ADJUSTABLE STRAP INCLUDED
Silicone arm grips ensure non slip wear.
For outdoors training, or for the use by younger students, take advantage of an adjustable head strap that can be clipped on and off as needed.
The head strap clips are made to fit quite tightly into the holes in the arms. Align the two well, then push the clip in.
USING CLARITY
LOOK INTO THE SHIELD, NOT THROUGH THE SIDES!
When using the Trainer for the development of peripheral awareness and expansion of your field of view, ALWAYS look into the shield.
For other skills leveraging shields #1, #2, and #3 follow this rule as well unless instructed otherwise. There are very few exceptions, and they are well called out.
INCREASE DIFFICULTY GRADUALLY
Each technique section includes a list of shields recommended for its mastery.
Always learn the technique with the lowest listed shield number, then switch to the higher shields. Give your eyes enough time to adjust and learn the new skill, then work on deepening the learning.
For example, when training to expand your peripheral field of view, start with shield #1 that only covers your central view and leaves most of the visual field unobstructed. Get comfortable with the complete loss of your central vision, let your eyes adjust through the various techniques. Then, when you are ready for the next step, switch to shield #2, and finally shield #3.
The shields listed for each technique are for usual, on-going practice. You may practice with a lower difficulty shield even if it is not specifically called out.
In any individual session, you can take one of the following approaches or a combination of both:
Practice a series of techniques with one shield number (one level of difficulty). Use a higher shield number in the following session (or sessions), and the highest shield number in yet another session
Practice only one technique and increase the shield difficulty during the session
Your choice of the above may depend on what skill you are working on and how it relates to the condition of your eyes. Some techniques will be easy, others will be difficult.
TRAINER ON OR TRAINER OFF?
Clarity Eyesight Trainer shields increase the effectiveness and efficiency of most vision improvement techniques.
Then there a the few situations when they should be put down. Those would be the moments when the visual system is put to rest (such as the technique of Palming), or when binocular vision is required for a technique to be performed (such as the technique of Seeing three dots for the development of accommodation). If you are not sure, ask your teacher.
DURATION OF USING THE SHIELDS
The shields are meant to be used during your intentional practice session.
For the purpose of increasing eye engagement of a less skilled eye you may use the mono shields for an extended time and outside of your designated practice session. If you decide to do so, start with short intervals (1-5 minutes) and extend the duration over time up to a couple hours. During the time when your one eye is covered pay special attention to your safety and obey all Overbound safety guidelines.
If you have a strongly disengaged eye, do not attempt to engage it through long duration single eye obstruction. It may cause severe stress to your visual system. There are likely more gentle ways to achieve your goals.
CARING FOR CLARITY
ORGANIZE
Keep your trainer organized in the provided case. It protects the frame and the lenses while not in use, and ensures no part gets lost.
CLEAN
If the Trainer gets dirty, wipe it with damp cloth. Clean heavy dirt with soap. Do not push on the magnets when cleaning the shields.
STRETCH
If you feel like the frame is just a bit tight on your temples, place the frame over the zipped up case for a few days or between practices. The frame will loosen itself for a more comfortable wear.
