The Overbound Eyesight Trainer is an indispensable master tool without which vision training is more difficult to execute and eyesight improvement is more difficult to achieve. As appropriate, the Eyesight Trainer is meant to be used alone (just you, your eyes and your shields), or in combination with other tools, such as those that guide your gaze or provide feedback for how well you are performing the skill you are learning. Some of these tools are listed below.
Comprehensive vision improvement programs, including Overbound’s Clarity Unleashed (self taught) and Eyesight Reimagined (coach led) programs will teach you how and when to leverage these tools.
BROCK STRING
The Brock String, or the string with beads is a training tool that is heavily used for the purpose of eye activation, eye coordination, binocular vision development, and the extension of the distance at which you can see clearly (far or near). You can make one yourself or get it from the Overbound Shop.
TRAINING BALLS
Not only do they add a fun element to your vision practice, juggling balls are an excellent tool for 3D vision development, eye-head coordination improvement, release of astigmatism, peripheral vision development and more
Pick balls that are soft, do not bounce or run away when dropped. Unless you have excellent eye-body coordination, choosing the right balls will save you from adding a cardio session to your vision practice. Check out these Overbound training balls or find your own elsewhere.
PINHOLE GLASSES
One of the most fabulous tools for vision improvement is pinhole glasses. While rejected by traditional ophthalmology as a useless scam, natural approaches find it to be one of the best inventions for acuity development and extension of the distance from which you can see clearly. They are therefore the most useful for myopia, presbyopia and hyperopia. Pinhole glasses are also delivering fabulous results for serious conditions, such as the cataracts, and retinal problems. When used properly, that is as a training tool, not as a replacement for prescription glasses, they can significantly speed up the new neural pathway development between the eyes and the brain. There is an array of pinhole glasses available out there. Given our coaches find faults with most of them, we are in the process of developing our own.
FIELD OF VIEW SEPARATOR
Most commonly called the Nose Card tool, the card that is attached to your face has the ability to ensure that both eyes are involved equally in the seeing process. By eliminating any competition between the eyes in the natural area of binocular vision, this tool delivers eye activation, eye engagement, coordination and binocular vision. It is also often reached for when addressing visual overwhelm.
When homemade, this tool is rarely working well. So check out the one that was developed by Overbound’s founder Irena Castle to prevent you (and herself) from getting frustrated. As she says, the easier it is to practice, the most likely you stick to the process and the faster you reach your dream vision.
SHIFTER
This simple tool necessary for the practice of several simple techniques helps with elimination of astigmatism, eye relaxation when focused at difficult distances, development of faster and smoother eye movements (i.e. the saccades) and the practice of looking at details. It can also accompany the practice of the Sunning. One of the most versatile printable Shifters in 2 color options can be downloaded here. More complex Shifters will likely have to be handmade to fit your needs. If you are not very crafty, you may also support Art for Transformation, who sell very nice shifters.
SNELLEN CHART
With its ability to provide detailed feedback about your vision and about your practice, the Snellen Chart should become your best friend the first day you get serious about your vision improvement. Download one here. Look at it often and get as familiar with it as you possibly can. Memorize it if you want. Observe how it changes from day to day. And of course, use it for the development of focus, distance of clarity expansion, seeing relative movement, release of astigmatism and more.
Depending on your condition and the techniques you choose to practice, there are other tools and charts that you may need. Any good quality program will either provide them for you (i.e. to download), or instruct you in how to acquire them.
